Our single strand rope is sold by weight and the diameter listed is the approximate diameter after it has been unwound from the tubes. The product is tightly wound on cardboard tubes or cones so it appears to be smaller in diameter. The tubes/cones are either 2 1/2 pounds or 5 pounds in weight. As it comes off the tube it loosens up and expands and we are using the expanded diameter as our measurement.
The project in the second picture was made by a customer using the 3mm size. Please consider using the next size up for your project if you are unsure how this product will compare to what you have used before. A simple way to understand the size of our product compared to others is to compare the number of feet per pound.
Our 2mm is approximately 1600 feet per pound. 4000 feet on a 2.5 pound tube. 8000 feet on a 5 pound tube.

Our cotton ropes are 100% cotton. Many industrial cotton ropes on the market are a blend of cotton and synthetic materials like polypropylene, acrylic, or polyester. Blended cotton ropes are stronger and less expensive and they certainly have their place in the market. However, we have found that our 100% pure, natural, cotton ropes are better suited for our customer’s needs.
Our cotton ropes are also generally safe for pets and birds since they contain only natural cotton fiber. These ropes are intended for indoor use and can be washed if needed.
